Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) 

• How high does the glass balustrade in Brisbane QLD need to be?

Glass balustrade height needs to be at least 1000mm by the regulation. Factory Glass balustrade panels are 970mm standard height. And the bottom supporting spigots hold the panel up 60mm from the ground. So the overall fence height is over 1000mm, which complies with the regulation in QLD.

 

• What is the recommended gap between each panel?

By the regulation, the gap between panels must not exceed 100mm. And the optimum gap is 30 - 60mm which most professional installers select.

 

• Do I have to install the top rail?

The top rail is required if the glass balustrade isn't on the ground floor

 

• How to fix the core drill spigots?

Drill a 70-80mm diameter hole at 120mm deep. Check floor level and set spigots at the ideal position, then pour non-shrink grout into the hole. 

 

• How far from the centre of the spigot to the panel edge?

Generally, make it 200 - 300mm in from the spigot centre to the closer side edge. If the panel is too small, just adjust it to a reasonable distance.  Alternatively, use panel width divided by 6, for example, 1200mm / 6 = 200mm, which means, for the 1200mm wide panel, the spigot to edge distance is 200mm.

And the distance between the 2 spigots can't exceed 1200mm by regulation, so panels over 1800mm wide need x3 off spigots.

 

• What is the lead time to get the glass balustrade order delivered?

We provide a fast glass truck delivery service. The lead time is 2-4 working days in the Brisbane area, and 3-7 working days for the other areas.

The above time frame is not applied to the bulk apartment or unit project order.

 

• How much does the custom-cut raked or stair panel cost?

The custom raked or stair glass price varies depending on the glass shape and how big the panel is.

• Do you deliver glass? what is your delivery zone?

Yes, we do glass delivery by our own A-frame professional glass truck.

Delivery Zone: The greater Brisbane area, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Noosa Heads, and Byron Bay.

We deliver glass by our own A-frame professional glass truck, unlike others stack panels flat on a pallet and deliver by 3rd party courier company, which is not ideal to transport fragile glass items. If the glass panel are cracked or scratched during transport or the wrong size and quantity are packed or the glass has defects, claiming a replacement or insurance could be a headache. It could delay the project and cause more ongoing costs.

 

• How much does the glass delivery cost?

Brisbane metro area: Free delivery for order amount over $500

Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast: $125+gst

Other areas: $165+gst

 

• Glass truck delivery lead time:

Brisbane: usually 2-4 working days

Other areas: usually 3-7 working days
